Puppies are now looking back at me. At this age the eyes are open but the eyesight is still limited and blurry. They are starting to crawl around but not lift their bodies up off the ground. Still healthy and making great progress!
Today is Heartworm medicine day! I treated Wrigley with Revolution heartworm Medicine today. This is very important to all dog owners. You must treat your dog for heartworms. It is a terrible disease in which most dogs with the disease die from it. Heartworm medicine is available at your vet's office and through prescription websites.
Most heartworm medicines offer a gaurantee that the dog being treated 12 months out of the year will not get heartworms and if they do the company will pay for vet expenses! Get your heartworm medicine today and apply it every month. They even send you stickers to mark your calendar! Today the puppies went to the vet to get their clean bill of health! They also got their tails docked to Vizsla standards. Vizslas dock 1/3 of the tail leaving the tail a bit longer than other breeds that dock tails. Boxers get their tails docked 2/3 leaving them with a shorter tail and some breeds even take the tail completely off. We also got the dewclaws removed. This breed runs very fast and if a dewclaw was to get caught on something as they were running it could tear out vein a cause major injury to the dog. This is why the Vizsla gets the dewclaw removed.
Everybody is now back at home and safe and sound with Wrigley! Wrigley had her litter today starting at 9:00am. She had 6 puppies, 5 females and 1 male. Mom is doing great and so are the puppies. Wrigley is being a great mom as always!
I have been receiving many pictures and emails from last years litter parents as today marks the big First Birthday!!! I am glad to hear that everybody is doing well and the Vizslas all have such great homes!
Thanks to all of you that send me updates!! It is that time of year again in which we await the next litter of puppies! I am reaching out to those of you that are on the list already and would like to be on the list for this litter.
Wrigley was bred on Jan 19th and the 20th to Red which is the same male that sired the last two litters. We are expecting puppies on March 22nd and puppies should be able to go to their new homes May 17th. This litter will be sold for $900 a puppy male/female and include the following: AKC registration, Health Guarantee, Vet Checked, Dewclaws removed, Tails docked, and first round of puppy shots. We will include a vet record that you can pass onto your own vet. We will accept deposits once the puppies are born. Waste no time in holding your spot for a puppy from this litter! Contact us today! It is that time of year again when we host a Vizsla Party for our previous litters to come home for a family reunion. We hope to have many puppies come and be able to see each other again. I love hearing all the Vizsla stories and about each puppy's adventures. It is also a good time for Vizsla owners to compare notes and maybe get advice from one another.
We are very excited and cannot wait to see everybody! http://new.evite.com/services/links/X3JEEHHZCA Our lives are getting back to normal now that the puppies are all in their new homes and we have returned from our vacation. Wrigley is getting her pre-puppy body back and feeling spunky as ever. Due to the large amount of rain we have had we now have a small pond in the side yard. Wrigley thinks we built it for her. She plays in it daily. Which means lots of baths and wipedowns before coming inside.
I have enjoyed reading updates from our puppy owners. I am so happy all the puppies went to great homes. That is why we raise puppies and it makes me happy to see they are doing well! Thank you so much and keep them coming! So this weekend I was able to tell the puppies where their new homes were going to be and who their new families were. They were very excited! I think we have every puppy matched up well with their new owners and their personalities, plus everybody was able to get one of their picks.
The Black puppy was in high demand for his laid back and loving personality…..but all the puppies will be very affectionate and loving. It is in their nature to be. The more love that you give to them, the more they love you back. Something that many people have asked me about is bringing something home of the mother dog with the puppy to have her smell around. I do not know if this will make a difference or not, but we have a blanket that Wrigley lays with that we will cut into six piece to send home with everybody. One family brought a toy for Wrigley to play with to have her smell on it as well. Anybody else is more than welcome to bring by a toy. I will try to keep it in one piece! |
